Our Annual Apple Pie Contest is back!

Saturday, October 8, 9:45am (RAIN DATE OCTOBER 15)

Join in the fun! Enter to win a basket full of Market goodies and a medal proclaiming your pie to be the best in the land of Pleasantville.

REGISTER DAY-OF Bring your pie and $5 entry fee to the Manager’s Tent between 8:30 – 9:45 am on October 8. You can save time by filling out your Entry Form in advance using this link.

Enter your pie in one of four categories:

1. Best Two-Crust Apple Pie

2. Best One-Crust Apple Tart, Crumb, or Crisp

3. Best Entry By A Junior Chef (18 and Under; able to make a pie on their own)

4. Best Entry by Family and Friends (board members, interns, employees, and their immediate family)

Bakers, please note the following rules:

  • Pies must be dropped off at the Market by 9:45 am on October 8.
  • All entries must be made from scratch. No store-bought crusts or fillings.
  • One adult and/or one youth entry per household.
  • One baker per pie. Amateur bakers only.
  • The main filling ingredient should be apples.
  • All bakers must indicate on the registration form if their pie contains peanuts or peanut oil, tree nuts or tree nut oil, or nut flour.
  • Entry fees are nonrefundable.

More Information:

  • Pies will be judged on texture, taste, and appearance.
  • One winner in each category will receive a Pleasantville Farmers Market gift basket and bragging rights.
  • The results will be announced at around 11 am.
  • Pick up your non-disposable pie plate when the contest is over.

PREFER EATING TO BAKING? Come to the manager’s tent after the winners have been announced and buy a slice of delicious pie ($3 per slice, $5 for two).
